As Mission Awareness Coordinator for the Kansas District, Marvin shares with congregations, groups, families and individuals encouraging understanding of and support for the global Gospel outreach of our church. He facilitates support of missions at every level - from local opportunities through district, national and overseas missions. Marvin does congregation Mission Festivals, celebrating support of missionaries around the world and encouraging participation in the Together in Mission program. He is available for other speaking engagements as well. |

He is a member of First Lutheran Church in Sabetha where he has served as head elder, chairman, Sunday school and Bible study teacher. He has been a coach, teacher and school administrator in Kansas for more than 30 years. He served as a delegate to our 1993 synodical convention and was part of Lutheran Hour Ministries Servants to Nations mission 1994 tour to Tisovec, Slovakia. Currently he serves as chairperson for the Kansas District Lay Leadership Training Commission. In 1998, Marvin and then District President, Rev. Howard Patten, made a mission visit to Guinea, West Africa. From this experience and others, Marvin will share many exciting, sometimes miraculous things God is doing, not only in Guinea, but also in 65 countries around the world. | |||||
