Registration FAQ

Please read the following information carefully as it deals with specific details about on-line and other registration questions.

REGISTRATION
The convention registration is ONLINE this year beginning March 15. You may access it on this page by clicking on the Register Now button above. The following excuse forms are available: Pastor and Lay Voting Delegates and Commissioned Ministers/Advisory Delegates. Registration tables will be located outside the main convention room and will open Thursday morning, June 4 at 8:00 a.m. Deadline for registration is May 11, 2009. NOTE: Commissioned Ministers deadline is April 17!!

EMAIL ADDRESS
An email address is required to complete the registration form.  We use this address to communicate important pre- and post-convention information.  If you do not have an email address, contact the president's office at 785-357-4441 x 219 or 1-800-357-4421.

WHO SHOULD REGISTER ON LINE
On-line registration is for Voting Delegates, Advisory Delegates and Invited Guests

IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE

We are not collecting money.  All expenses for voting delegates, advisory delegates and invited guests are paid for through the congregation convention assessments.

WHAT ABOUT HOTEL RESERVATIONS and PAYMENT
--Delegates must make their own hotel reservations and provide arrangements for payment. 
--Invited Guests: Hotel accommodations will be provided.  Contact Marie Holt at marie@kslcms.org for reservations.

Anyone can attend the convention. Limited seating will be available at the back of the convention hall. Refer to the schedule (available in April) for those times that you are interested in attending. You do not need to sign in and you will not be issued a name tag.

SPECIAL NOTE TO OTHER GUESTS AND EXHIBITORS
We welcome your attendance!  However, due to space limitations, meals will not be available.

HAVE NO ACCESS TO THE INTERNET?
Contact the District Office at 1-800-357-4421 ext. 219 (or 785-357-4441) and we'll mail out a packet to you.

HOTEL - CAPITOL PLAZA HOTEL and CONVENTION CENTER
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel under Kansas District Lutherans. Our group rate is $91.00. This rate does not includes taxes. You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. You may call the hotel directly at 785-431-7200 or 1-800-579-7937. Hotel guest rooms may not be available until later in the day on Thursday, June 4. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out is 12:00 p.m. Early room availability on the day of arrival is not guaranteed, but the hotel will gladly store baggage until rooms are available. Deadline for hotel registration is May 11, 2009.

WORKBOOKS - NOTE changes for 2009 Convention!
A CD with the contents of the Convention Workbook will be mailed to all delegates by May 1. A printed copy will not be provided for you. If you desire a paper copy of the workbook, please print a copy from the CD and bring it with you to the convention. If you are unable to attend the convention, please pass on all materials to the alternate.

LAPTOPS
This year laptops will be permitted on the Convention floor so you can view the workbook from the CD. However, internet service and electrical connections will not be available.
