Charles E. Glanzer,
49, Topeka, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003, at KU Medical Center.
He was born May 27, 1954, at Clay Center, the son of Earl and Ada Glanzer.
Charlie was a 1972 graduate of Blue Valley High School, Randolph. He attended
Cloud County Community College, Concordia, Washburn University, Topeka,
and graduated from Clark's Business College, Topeka, with a degree in
business.
He worked as an assistant bookkeeper for Crane and Company, Topeka from
1976 to 1986. He then worked as manager for Crane and Company, Lawrence
from 1986 to 1988. He was employed as director of finance and operations
for the Kansas District Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
Charlie was a member and elder of St. John's Lutheran Church, Topeka.
He was also a member of the Busch-Heartland Pool League of America.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Glanzer.
Survivors include his mother, Ada Glanzer; brother and sister-in-law,
Steve and Lenita Glanzer, all of Randolph; four nephews, two nieces; one
grandniece; aunts; uncles; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at St. John's
Lutheran Church, 901 Filmore in Topeka. Graveside services will be at
3 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Winkler, northwest
of Randolph. Charlie will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel
Mid Town Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 5-6:30 p.m.
